Improvement of the Mineola VAC Headquarters:
MVAC HQ has been serving the emergency needs of the residents of the
Village of Mineola since 1979, Prior the being the HQ of MVAC, it served as
Mineola Fire Department Sub Station. Unfortunately, MVAC has outgrown its
current quarters. Currently, not all of MVAC's vehicles can be stored inside,
and with the anticipated replacement of ambulance 261, a new ambulance will not
be able to be stored inside. With our membership at 82 members, it is often
difficult to fit all our members inside our main meeting room for meetings
& trainings. In addition, MVAC needs to update it facilities to confirm
with DOH & OSHA standards. Your donation will be greatly appreciated to
allow MVAC to continue to grow & service the residents of our community.
Medical Supplies/New Equipment:
The field of Pre-Hospital Medical Care has greatly changed over the
past two decades. No longer are ambulances just shuttles for the injured to get
to the hospital. Today, MVAC's EMT's, Advanced EMT's & Paramedics can use
MVAC ambulances as an extension of a hospital, providing both Basic Life
Support and Advanced Life Support Care. As time and technology continues to
increase new and advanced equipment is available to better treat patients in a
pre-hospital setting. Your donation will be used to update our equipment and
supplies to better service the residents & visitors of Mineola.
